Is anyone else experiencing delayed pop times from PSA?

I have a few orders in and a couple of them are past the estimated date..

There is usually a delay before/after the National.

I was told by PSA that they had a "3 Day Black Out" due to the National.

Technically, today is 7 business days for my CC renewal. So, hopefully I'll know over the next few days how it's running.

Edit: It's now 9 business days. Maybe Friday??

Separate topic...I submitted at the National and I still don't see the order listed. They must be overloaded beyond capacity.

  • One would have to think that after month after month of the PSA reps serving up the same reasoning about why the orders are back logged, because you know they have to answer that same question over and over again daily, that they would maybe consider expanding? Maybe bring on another grader or two? Or is that absolutely out of the question. Seems logical but never happens and we see the same post over and over again. Just a thought.

It might be lower cost to the company if they just changed the 45-day to specify 60-day instead, rather than hiring additional personnel, unless the 45 to 60 switch were to be the difference maker for people to send orders in to them instead of elsewhere.
  • I'm waiting longer for 3 than I did for 50.

Today is day 55 of a 45 day order (not adjusted for holidays and nationals).
  • I experience delays as soon as I send them off.

Where are they? Its been 10 minutes!!
  • Someone PLEASE beat this one...

SUPER EXPRESS order. 2 cards. Logged in July 12, 2013

Used a voucher from a previous Express order that took almost 3 times the turnaround estimate.

Can't wait to see what the voucher will be for this one!

  • These stories are really all ridiculous. Maybe that's why I'm seeing twice as many BGS graded cards pop up on ebay than PSA

  • It's so bad now that they need to address it and let people know their plan to improve wait times.

This is what happened. We used to be able to use the cheapest sub possible. Orders were received and logged the same day. Poppage was a week or 2 tops. Sometimes grades were posted in less than a week. PSA then wised up and stopped offering great service for a cheap price. They laid off a bunch of people in the office, graders, shippers etc. Thousands and thousand of dollars saved. So they greatly reduced expenses and revenue was the same or higher. They are still doing the same work just taking a lot longer to do it. On top of that impatient people like myself actually started using the higher priced, shorter turnaround subs, again increasing revenue. It's not that PSA was suddenly flooded with orders, and a backup was the result. PSA created the backlog by reducing expenses(people). it is that they wised up. Truth is they probably don't get any more subs than they used to it's just that they process them a lot different now and it is far less expensive to them. Not so good for us. PSA is as healthy as it has ever been and you really can't fault them.

I have two 45 day subs that are well over 50 days so I can fault them.
  • I get the sense that PSA isn't interested in the retail side of the business. My guess is they much prefer managed accounts that submit thousands of cards a year and that's where they put their resources. I think PSA - and their large submitter's - know that as long as guys collect PSA cards it doesn't matter who's doing the subbing.

I know I won't be subbing anymore cards, which is good for guys like 4sharp as I still collect PSA and need to buy from someone.

I sent in a submission in mid May that was "formally logged" on 3 June, that has still not popped.

I've been waiting a long time....!

And just a 39-card regular submission, nothing fancy.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
