if shaq and kobe were ever to read this stuff they'd probally laugh their a$$'s off at us. we pit these guys against each other like their on different teams or something. i think it's kind of silly to be arguing about who is a greater player when their 2 totally different players. shaq is going to put up the big #'s every game because look at the size and skills he possess. no player at his position is going to stop him from dunking when he wants to. kobe will play the team game for the first half and part of 3 qrt's, play solid D , distribute the ball to other players and get his pts when he wants. these guys are both great players who combine to make an awesome 1-2 punch. why bother arguing who's better than who when both shaq and kobe know they need EACH OTHER to win the ring. sorry about all this, just felt like babbling

Actually, they would do most of the laughing at airKobe. He gets VERY defensive when you talk about Kobe. He would probably take a bullet for Kobe. That's why some people probably dog Kobe because it gets under his skin. Kobe is still overrated. SHAQ is the man in LA.

Kobe is the only player to average atleast 25.5 ppg, 5.5 rebs and 5.5 assists and that's with shaq taking plenty of kobes #'s away.

I agree that kobe couldn't win a title without another superstar, but who has????????????????????

Plain and simple. Kobe gets all the credit. Shaq does all the work. Shaq is the Chauffeur. Kobe is riding. Shaq does the driving and even opens the doors, yet the spot light is always on Kobe (ahhhhhhhh great similie).

Point is, Shaq does majority of the work and gets overlooked. If you remove your tunnel vision and watch Kobe, notice no one double teams him until he gets inside near Shaq. Reason is, defenders are not going to leave Shaq. This allows Kobe to have open shots. Compare the double doubles. When Kobe went out in the forth quarter, it was tied and Shaq had 10 of the Lakers 17 points. Shaq does more than a typical Center. Other than drawing double teams, Shaq runs the floor like a power forward (and sometimes try to be a guard

). Shaq is consistant in every game. Kobe on the otherhand has his ups and downs, yet Kobe fans give Kobe all the credit. I guarentee you if Kobe scored like 8 points in a game, Kobe fans will still have an excuse and only talk about those 3-4 shots Kobe did make. It's definately tunnel vision. Kobe is overrated. People criticize Tony Parker and say he wouldn't be as good without Duncan and riding Duncan's coat tail, but that's exactly what Kobe does, but of course, there is a double standard.

If they show a person doing prime time dunks, people will think they are great... but when you look at stats, that person could have been 7 for 25 and 1-8 at the free throw line.

You mean in this year's postseason? What do you expect? They've only played FOUR games in the postseason, so if either of them had a great offensive game or even defensive game, their numbers would easily jump really high since the lack of games. No one mentioned anything when Kobe scored 29.6 PPG, 6+ APG, 6+ RPG, and 1.50+ SPG last season in the playoffs and his stats were BETTER than Shaq's in many of the stats. No one ever gives him the credit he deserves. He makes play when they need to be made, and makes them when they count. Kobe will have similiar numbers for this postseason and at the end just like last year's postseason, but will anyone give him credit where credit is due? I don't think so.

as I said before, there would be no clutch without Shaq. Shaq scored 13 of Lakers last 23 points. If Shaq didn't score those, there would have been no clutch time as in every game. Shaq gets them to that clutch point and Kobe hits that final shot. So, Kobe is great for making 1 shot when Shaq gets them to that point? SHAQ is the man in LA. If Shaq would have sat out the rest of the game after getting re-stitched, Lakers would have lost that game. Argure with that one.
