Great sub. Post some scans of the Cromy cards when you get them back. I'm interested to see how they look slabbed. Nice grades too. The 87 sting card should be a big card IMO. The set is very tough and that's his first card. That's the highest graded yamakatsu card too.

  • I only own a few wrestling cards and was only a fan of wrestling for a few years during the 80s but I really enjoy the posts by you and a few others on wrestling cards.

There won't be many 87 Wonderama Sting's showing up that's for sure. In four years of tracking wrestling cards on EBAY I have only seen two.

I checked the pop report this morning and there is now a #17 Sting PSA 10 from the 1988 set and if that one hits EBAY it should do pretty well.

Mine got an 8 and I am very happy with that as most of the test issue from 1987 that I bought had some serious issues with them. I really wanted to send in my number one card of Ric Flair but it is terribly off center grading would not do it much good. I guess they truly needed a test run to get the cards in a little better shape and pay for better card stock, etc.

Nice work. Glad to see they were able to fix the flip. I wonder if we will start seeing more for sale now that they are in the pop report

10 1 21747591 NEAR MINT 7 1987 WONDERAMA NWA WRESTLING SUPERCARDS TEST RUN 9 BARRY WINDHAM & STING BROWN BACK Card
11 1 21747592 NEAR MINT-MINT 8 1987 WONDERAMA NWA WRESTLING SUPERCARDS TEST RUN 17 STING BROWN BACK Card

Now it is official and I have the first ever cards of Sting from 1987! Despite the grades I think they will do very well since they are so condition sensitive. I'm actually pretty pumped to have these and think I should send in some more from my Test Run to get in slabs. There are so few of these cards out there they should do very well. If you look at some of the low grade Carnations, collectors are looking for rare cards in almost any form.

I agree. There wasn't much action on these when they were on eBay but I think they will do really well slabbed.

Very cool sub. Is the 93 Steve Austin always in an oversized slab? I see one of the 87 sting cards is on eBay Good luck with that. It should be interesting to see what the market does with these. What are those 73 and 74 cards? This is the first time I have seen them.

Rob those hand cut cards came out looking great! You need to find the rest of the magazines and get those slabbed too.

Eagles I have the PSA 6 Steve Austin and it is in a traditional sized holder. I write on the sides of my submission forms that I want regular sized holders only and I am not sure if this helped or not. I have done this from the begining after seeing some early graded Wrestling All Stars in the huge slabs.

I am not sure if it was PSA or if the magazine did not line up their perforations very well at all. I have noticed differences in sizes of the cards due to the perforations. I'll have to see why this card was slabbed this way. I was a bit surprised to see the Austin in this slab.
