2013 Topps Archives Redemption Arrived - Pics

I guess I am the gambling sort. I bought four of the Topps Originals Redemptions from 2013 Archives Baseball. They are one in 25 or so cases, so long odds. These are hyped to be Topps Vault cards, packs or complete sets. When these first came out, the price was $300ish per, slowly creeping down to $75-$100 per.

I got my shipping notice very quickly, all shipped the same day with once arriving less then a month after redemption, wow!

My first tip off of things to come was some angry posts from buyers of these on Topps Facebook page. That page btw is filled with messages of hate lol.

Ok drum role please

First up, 84 Topps Cello.

Next up, you guess it another 84 Topps Cello.

Better here, a 76 Cello. No star power but nicely centred. Should grade a 9.

My 4th one should arrive tomorrow. And unless it is a 60's or earlier pack I took it hard on ROI here! Giving away 84 packs seems like a joke.

I also have a redemption for a 2012 Archives uncut sheet coming. Will post that on arrival to confirm if it includes the SSP Harper!

What are you going to do with that 76 Stanley pack??
  • Slab as I do with all packs, hopefully soon as its tempting me
  • Ouch. Maybe you can win a trip to the 1984 World Series and recoup some of your losses
  • A new twist. I have two redemptions pending for two 1964 wax packs.

My buddy knows I have these, he has lots of high value vintage packs. Sends me a email today saying he has been contacted by Topps to buy some of his packs as they don't have any, nor can they find any. He has some great stuff so maybe it pans out but not looking good.

Does Topps just stick redemptions into packs then try and figure it out later?
