It really doesn't matter when you submit World Coins to PCGS ... they will take their own sweet time.

I can almost hear Orson Wells pitching for PCGS ... "We will grade no world submission before it is time."

The clock doesn't start ticking when you do that.

Seems that anytime before auction season the bottleneck becomes, probably given very high submissions.

    Wow. Four MONTHS. image

One month is pretty much a given.

The present two-month turnaround I could deal with, without being too shocked.

At two and a half months, I'd start to grumble.

At three months, I'd be pretty darn p!$$ed off.

At FOUR months... well... I wouldn't be as upset then, because by that time I would have forgotten I owned the freakin' coins.

    Nice grades, Mac! image

NGC is also over by ~ 2 weeks on their value submission turnaround, btw. Although nearly as bad as Our hosts.

They actually arrived at PCGS at the end of 2012, but didn't get logged in until 2013.

Well, my submission was from 2003, so I guess they've improved by a few days over the decade. image

I suppose with the ANA show this week there will be no grading going on back in California ... so add another week to turnaround times.

It is pretty sad that this is the accepted norm for grading. I'm surprised that anyone bothers to pay for their services (any of the major TPG's) because the response time is such garbage. I understand the value in having coins graded but I would be so mad I couldn't see straight after waiting two months, much less four.

I know they use at least sometimes, contract world coin graders. Some of these are well know world coin dealers.

They send the coins out or bring these graders into the grading room when needed. So maybe not as quick or efficient as one would like.
