I once caught my grandfather picking food out of his teeth with my '79 Reggie Jackson. Think I could fetch a buck thirty for that card?

Only if the food particles are in near mint condition.

My cousin collected cards in the early 70s. He lived in San Leandro (right next to Oakland) but was a huge Giants fan and hated the A's.

On the back (and some fronts) of every Reggie Jackson card he scrawled either "Jerk" or "Fink." I know there were 72s and 73s in that mix -- don't know about anything earlier than that.

...but he never did math on the cards.

that could well be, then Al was en fuego! image

to bziddy, your cousin was indeed correct - i watched Reggie brush off an autograph seeker at the WS in the late 70's.....he made a young boy very sad.

just for fun, here's more Detroit defacement.

This is the closest I could find from game by game stats from '68. He was 6-9 in two games against the Senators but not the same hits per game. The kid that collected the card must of been a stud hitter. Doug

That Alex Karras card is pretty funny.

  • The kid was probably daydreaming about Winnie Cooper and did this absentmindedly.

    STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
