Something I found at my fathers I think Tsalems1 mentioned before

Since I could not go to the national, I took the time to move some items from my fathers house to mine. One of those is something I think Tsalems1 has mentioned before and fits into my unopened collection. They aren't rare by any means but its something I don't see that often anymore. That is 1980 Topps supers (white backs) in 3 card packs. I assume a lot of people probably have these stored somewhere back in their closets but I thought they were interesting. I know I got enough to get a complete set of these packs with every card in the set showing on front or back. I was wondering if anyone really knew much more about them.

I got boxes and boxes of those awful gray back ones also. They would make a good fire.

Do you see many of these unopened? You seem to be the person that is up on these.

This product was released 2 ways. The way you have them in the 3 card packs.
The other was which is the way that I have them... which is set cases. 10 complete 60 card sets to a case.

You don't see sealed cases of this stuff too often but packs/boxes can be found. They white backs are more difficult.
There is not a big demand on this stuff unless you get some graded, the player set collectors will be after the white backs.
There are a bunch of gray backs graded and very little demand

    Interesting.

I have a factory box of the football version, and knew there was a baseball counterpart, but the football ones were sold individually and I assumed it was the same for baseball.

Singles don't have much value, but I would imagine some player collectors would love to add a sealed pack with their favorite player to their collection.

If nothing else, I bet it was a blast re-discovering and going through them. I know it's always fun for me when I come across a box I haven't gone through in a while. image
