2013 National Purchase and call out for great board member

Since I was not able to make it to the National this year CPAMike volunteered to look out for a couple of items for me. Well on Thursday he called me from the BBCE booth and gave me a rundown of what they had. There were a couple of items I really wanted so Mike talked to Steve about letting me have them and letting me send him payment via paypal. Steve had no problem with this and pulled the items aside and promised to mail them out to me when he got back. The items arrived today so he must of shipped them first thing Monday morning. So I want to recognize CPAMike for being the great guy we all know he is and helping me at least partake of the National without being there. So here are the items I added to my unopen stash and there is no chance of these being ripped.

1975 FB cello from the sealed case and 72 wax tray

No problem Jim. I'm glad I was able to help you out. Those a definitely two items you don't come across everyday, excellent choices. Plus, I know they are safe with you. image

Hopefully, you can get away and make it to next year's National.

Agree with that. Mike, great seeing you and the mrs this year. Even better seeing you rip a pack in person. With what you pulled, I understand why you keep everything sealed. image

Mike bought me my tray of filet sliders and 8 beers at Gibson on Thursday for lunch! Great guy in my book! image

Good call having Steve ship them out to you instead of trusting Mike to bring them back and do so. Being around all that unopened material he has day after day must lead to a lot of pent up ripping urges and Mike may have ravaged your items. image

Congrats on the pick ups and an atta' boy to Mike and Steve each for helping make them happen!

First off I like the choice of filet sliders but I have to question drinking 8 beers at lunch, slow down there MB image

  • I met Mike at the National for the first time and wanted to thank him for his kindness as he went out of his way to introduce me to the other members at the National and took the time to converse with me as well as some of the other 'new' board members for the better part of an hour. Hope to see many of you next year in Cleveland.

Mixed in with a lot of garbage, there are quite a few GREAT people on this board that make the hobby better, CPAMike being one of them. It's too bad more emphasis can't be put on those guys rather than the BBGIRL's of the forum
