Comments: What trades should happen in MLB, NBA, and NFL

I think that they ought to do some trades like this-

MLB-
KC Royals- Trade like 3 or so players and get a star player that can help the team win.
DT Tigers- Trade like 3 or so players and get a star player that can help the team win.

NBA- (after the playoffs)
*Sonics trade 'C' Calvin Booth and Brent Barry for a good center in the league
*Knicks trade Latrell Spreewell to a team for a decsent player and a better 1st round pick.
*Dallas trades Nick Van Exel for a good Power Forward, then they would have LaFrentz, the PF they get, Nowitzki, Finley, and Nash

NFL-
*Gotta sign Chris Carter, I mean you can leave this guy a free agent, geeze, sign him, maybe he wont perform good, but he can give info the young talent WR's to help them in the future
*Dwayne Levels signed by the Bengals, ok, he wasn't drafted, but this guy is GOOD. 6'2 252 lbs, from Ok State U., he can hit hard, I mean hard. If you ever went to any OSU games this last season like I did, lookout. Has any1 ever heard of him? Had like over 110 tackles last season. He can be a very good player in a couple of years.

LOL ypou truly are a sonics fan to believe thjat any team is going to give up even a decent center for Brent Barry and calvin Booth LMAO

And why in the world would a team give up size for Van Exel, a guy who'd been bouncing around the league for years and is getting up in age?

How about this: The Cleveland Cavs trade Andre Miller to the Clippers for Lamar Odom and Corey Maggette. Cavs get some exciting young guys, Clips get a steady hand at the point.
  • LOL I wouldn't want CRIS Carter, who led the league in b*tching and moaning on the sideslines, teaching my players anything if I were an NFL owner. Look what a fine citizen and hard worker Randy Moss became under him LMAO

    MLB:

Braves should obtain Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson, and Curt Shilling. They also should obtain Sammy Sosa, Ivan Rodriguez, and Alex Rodriguez and move Furcal to 2nd, and Frank Thomas.

    2003 Atlanta Braves

    Greg Maddux
    Tom Glavine
    Randy Johnson
    Curt Shilling
    Pedro Martinez

    2B - Rafael Furcal
    3B - Vinny Castilla
    C - Ivan Rodriguez
    LF - Chipper Jones
    CF - Andruw Jones
    RF - Sammy Sosa

NBA: Hawks should trade for Kobe Bryant, Jermaine O'Neil, Corliss Williamson, and Paul Pierce.

    Hawks 02-03 Team:

    PG - Jason Terry
    SG - Kobe Bryant
    C - Jermaine O'Neil
    SF - Paul Pierce
    PF - Shareef Abdur-Rahim

    bench:
    DerMarr Johnson
    Corliss Williamson
    Toni Kukoc
    Theo Ratliff
    Cris Crawford
    and 2 others

NFL: It doesn't really matter to me.

Don't we all love to dream? image

  • LOL DSerick your trades are almost as plausible
  • Kings should trade Divac to the Lakers, and get Shaq in return... OR just GIVE divac to the Lakers and have him beat the crap out of Shaq really good (Shaq would have to be sleeping), then Trade Bibby to the Nets for Kidd and Martin, then give Martin back to the penatentary, then take Webber, and trade him for Nowitzki, Re-Sign Divac, Let go of Christie, and trade Kidd for Rodmanivic... Here's what their lineup would be:

    PG- Turkoglu
    SG- Rodmanavic
    SF- Stojakovic
    PF- Nowitzki
    C - Divac

Then, trade Pollard for Mutombo, let Mutombo go back to Kongo and pick up Malaria, spread it to all the All-Star players in the NBA, and BAM!!! We got and NBA CHampionship team for the first time since '59!!!

This is my favorite part of this post...like the Tigers GM gets Bobby Cox on the phone and says "send us Chipper, don't worry we'll send you 3 players back" LMAO
  • Wally S and J. Smith + 1st round pick (if we ever get one back, da mn you stearn)....for g. payton (could have had him at the begining of the season), marbury, andre miller. I can almost gurantee that the only face people will know on the wolves next year will be garnett....they should be some major trades.

signing carter is a waste of time he did nothing but slap moss and cullpepper around last year and yell and scream and just hurt the team he was mad because he wasnt getting the ball the vikes are better off

"he is the best wide reciever in the game"- TERREL OWENS
  • I bet even Garnett won;t be around...he'll be somewhere else if the T-Wolves are smart.
  • Maybe the spurs will come to the conclusion that they will not be able to sign Duncan, and trade him to Dallas for Finley, Lafrentz, Najera, and Van Exel, 2 first round picks and cash.

    Makes both teams better.

  • The Spurs would deamns Nowitzki and Finley to ever trade Duncan, no question, and eve then it'd STILL be a PR nightmare.

Besides, if Duncan didn't want to stay with the Spurs, why would he want to stay with a gutted Dallas team?
  • Gutted?

Most teams don't have players as good as Nash and Nowitzki. Then add Duncan. It would be very tough to find a better trio. Guards are a dime a dozen. With that crew, Dallas will be able to sign their pick of free agents. Cuban has the money.

I am just saying that SA could do this if they could not resign Duncan. They would still have a good team and a future. With several fine players and a great PR move for Najera.

  • nowitzki, they'd be able to reject because someone would step up w/ a better offer...I guarantee the Clips would give up Brand, Q, Odom and a number one pick for him in a second if SA offered.
  • I believe Duncan would like to win a championship. With the Clips? LOL

sorry to tell you NOWITZKI... but, there is no way with the Salary Cap Rules, that you could keep Duncan, Nash, and Nowitzki.... When all of the Current Mavs Redo their contracts, they would be LUCKY to keep Nowitzki Nash and Finley

  • Think about it. Dirk signed for the next 7 years already. Nash has 2 more. Finley signed for the max this year and Van Exel is making about 12M. Well just losing Van Exel and Finley gives you around 24M+. Duncans max will be about 18M (just a guess) Plus what would a luxury tax mean to Cuban if he has a great shot at a championship. He would still be able to sign some vets.

  • the new york knicks need to trade allan houston and marcus camby
and some money and something else to get gary payton and rasheed wallace.........houston is over paid so take some of that cash they gave him and get a decent center.....orlando needs to trade hill to the grizzlies for somebody......and jordan needs to get rid of hubert davis, bobby simmons, tyronn lue, and get scottie pippen
and sign dennis rodman like he should have did this year....and also get reggie miller if he can
  • LMAO thats the worst idea I ever heard...I'm sure Portland and Seattle are just dying to trade for Houston and Camby, 2 overpaid players that suck

LOL and Jordan should sign Pippen, Rodman, Miller...LMAO why so they can have a crappy old team instead of a crappy young team?
  • The Bulls trade everyone except Jalen Rose, and Tyson Chandler for Kobe Bryant, Shaq, T-Mac, Gary Payton, Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, Vince Carter, Kevin Garnett, and since they would be needing a good shooters bring Hornacek, Mark Price, and Larry Bird out of retirement to play. I bet that team would suck though because they'd all be fighting over who gets the shot, right. lol
  • Chris, your tarde idea, is just about as likely as battier's LMAO

<<How about this: The Cleveland Cavs trade Andre Miller to the Clippers for Lamar Odom and Corey Maggette. Cavs get some exciting young guys, Clips get a steady hand at the point. >>

do you actually think the Cavs will trade their best player and one of the NBA's top 5 point guards for some drug-addict (Odom) and some guy who only knows the way to the ring? (Maggette)

    LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
  • Undertaker, I'm not the first person to mention this possibili the ESPN guy was talking about it where the Clips threw in McInnis as well...and no it isn't at all farfetched if Miller makes it very clear he's not resigning...remember, people thought Detroit got robbed when they "only" got Ben Wallace and Chucky Atkins for Grant Hill.
  • UndertakerUndertaker Posts: 5,200 ✭✭
it would be a very good deal for the clips but VERY bad for the cavs, even with mcinnis
btw.. Ben Wallace could have been with the Celtics, Laker, Spurs, you name it as well.. they just didn't see the potential in this guy..
same goes for Danny Fortson, Lakers should have signed this man 3 years ago when he was free agent from Boston, this man is a monster under the boards, imagine what it would be, Fortson (12 boards a game) teaming up with Shaq (12 boards a game)
now THAT would be total domination

    hmn lets see.

76ers trade Allen Iverson for Antawn Jamison so I don't have to see that thug on Television
Houston trade Francis for 1st and 2nd round pick
Blazers trade Rasheed Wallace for Grant Hill so they have a little class on the team
Nets trade Kmart for Robert Horry of the lakers. Lakers get someone that can rebound and nets get someone who won't get a tech. almost every game.
Pistons trade Jerry Stackhouse for Shareef Abdur-Rahim. One loser for another. Neither are clutch so lets see if they do better on another team.
Clippers trade Magette, odom to Nets for J Kidd. They need someone who can dish the ball better. They are young so this will help them.
NBA trade the Cleveland Cavs to the NBDL for future considerations. When was the last time you watched a cavs game????
Nba trade David Stern for Mark Cuban. Just for the future of basketball. Cuban could do a better job then stern any day.
Oh and here come the releases.
    Bucks release their coach.
    Bucks release Glenn Robinson
    And retirements we can't forget
    Michael Jordan retires
    David Robinson retires
    Patrick Ewing retires
    Alonzo Morning retires

we are not getting rid of GP... he is our playoff guy.
We can trade Baker, Booth, Barry, and some guys off the bench... except Shammond Williams
    We then will have-
    Payton
    Mason
    Radmanovic
    Lewis
LaFrentz or Mutombo or some1 else

  • sonicsfan, was printed in papers here at the begining of the season that Wally/Brandon were in some kind of trade for payton, but one side ended up backing out. If I remember right payton was not happy at the end of last year, and wanted out.

Undertaker- I think the Cavs would take that trade for Miller....Odom has problems but tons of talents if he stays off the weed, and Maggette works hard and will be an all-star in a few years....he is still very young...almost like he came out of high school.

PS, sonic, you are not going to be able to get mutombo, and probably not lafrenz if those are the players you are willing to give up.

  • kidat heart is right..the sonics have absolutely no chance at anyone decent if they're only going to offer barry, Booth, and baker...Booth and Baker are particularly worthless, since they have big contracts and they can't play for crap.

    Salary cap in MLB
Split up the NY Yankees and make 3 teams out of that squad.

NBA- Vangundy to assist Wilkens on the Raptors, helping teach Carter defence thus creating the perfect player

Step on Shaq's toe real hard thus knocking him out....Kobe has nervous breakdown and can't grow fro back.

Make Phil Jackson coach a bad team with no stars.....see what it takes to be a real coach Mr. Zen

NFL - Don't fine players for giving game used football for sick kid on the sidelines...geez man they are really after the money there

NHL - Yet again, salary cap, helping out some of the canadian teams that can't afford to play players 10 million each like those Rangers

Isn't there ANYONE who realises that the Lakers already had Shaq and Kobe (they even had Eddie Jones, Van Exel & Campbell too) BEFORE Jackson arrived!!!??? He completely changed that team! He's one of the main reasons why the Lakers are on their way to the 3-peat
  • Undertaker is absolutely right...anyone who still claims Jackson is just lucky to have good players is an idiot. Look at it this way...everyone says Pippen sucks without Jordan, but rememhe was very good the two eyars Jordan was retired when jackson was still coaching the BUlls. Jackson is the key...look at guys like Shaq and Jordan, possibly th two most dominating players of the last decade...both said they won't paly for anyne but him.
  • MLB:I think the Ginats should trade Rob Nen for Magglio Ordonez and make Felix Rodriguez closer and Tim Worrel or Jason Christian setup man that meen s this is the linup

First of all, I'd like to comment on ChrisdaBalla's Dominique Wilkins picture! I'm a fan of my hometown teams (as most people are) and I remember in the 80's when The Human Highlight Film was playing for the Hawks. This guy was incredible. You think watching him on tv was amazing...you should have seen him live! Nique and Jordan's rivalry was legendary...especially when they were both on fire. They would go back and forth on each other and it was just an amazing sight to see. Gotta love Nique!

How about them Hawks? lol image

...And secondly, I'd like to comment on how Undertaker is a smartass...image

No, let me be serious for a moment. I'd like to comment on the Hawks (again) and their injuries and future. The Hawks were 6th in the NBA in loss to win differential from last to this season by an 8+ turn-around. Now, with that said, the Hawks will be getting Theo Ratliff back, which is a great rebounder and shot-blocker, something the Hawks didn't have last season. Take a look at the team:

Jason Terry - One of the most underrated players in the NBA today, and a great fundamentals player.
DerMarr Johnson - Getting better each year, and is also a great 3 point threat.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim - We all know what he can do!
    Theo Ratliff
    Toni Kukoc
    Alan Henderson
    Dion Glover
    Cris Crawford
    Nazr Mohammed

The Hawks will definitely be a better team next season with some draft picks and will probably go after another semi-star or star for next season. Plus, Ratliff will be back and healthy, and Terry and Abdur-Rahim will be great again...I don't know...I'm just rambling about something...we'll probably go 40-42 next season...lol

  • I just thought of a good trade-

Sonics trade Gary Payton and another player for Jason Kidd

    lol, it wont happen
But that would be a tough one, after Paytons good leadership in the playoffs sending the Spurs and Sonics to a game 5.

But I like Gary Payton, it would suck and it would be good, lol.
