Operation National Autograph Complete - Thank you Joe and Steve

WOW...is all I can say...from getting my childhood hero Don Mattingly's auto in person at a Cubs game to being able to sit beside Bart Starr(again) to getting Puig and Kershaw's auto at the same game.....to getting a Banks autograph encapsulated PSA 10 returned in 2.5 minutes from PSA(long story big misunderstanding). Thanks to Dustin, Matt, Eric, Mark, Andy, Mike, Logan, Logan's son(roll tide), Mike, Doug, Andy, Andy's son, Dave, Dave's son, Dan, Manny, and all the new friends from the board.

Ps got turned down by Rickey Henderson outside the hotel for an auto...Rickey said Rickey just got paid to sign.

This time I had a rookie card to sign.

Got Mr cub to hold up Mraaron...he said it looked like billy Williams and asked me how much I wanted for the card.

Wow, that's a heckuva haul! 2.5 minute turnaround has to be an all time record image

Did you ask them why that Namath signed rookie I sold you was only a 9 and not a 10? That's a perfect graph IMO

Mike, that's the story behind the story...due to the type marker used the sharpie bled into the yellow...should have used a VESA v or staedlter.

Wow, that's crazy. I think if that card were submitted 10 times, that 7 times it would come back a 10 and 3 times a 9.

Believe me it was seen numerous times at the National...lol...but I can see and understand their point...if they had a 9.5 this would be it.

I was sitting next to Kirk when he got back the Banks auto from PSA as a 10. He almost decided to just get it authenticated, but went ahead and got it graded. It only took a couple of minutes. When it came back a 10, it was a group hug moment.

Glad you had a good time. Sounds like a lot of memories. I met Ernie Banks at a show signing before and he is the best! The nicest signer I have ever met.

Nice stuff Kirk as usual. I see Matt sold you the Trent Richardson auto/patch card? That's a very cool piece. Btw very cool that you got an auto by "Donny Baseball". I hope to see you in Cleveland next year.

Kirk, my wife is still on my case about not meeting Donnie at the game, lol.

No one hustles more at the National than Kirk. You were on a roll this year. Great seeing you again and looking forward to next year!!! image

    great pickups!

Goodness, I would not have recognized Hank Aaron at all. He seems so frail compared to his former self (1980s / 1990s version)
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Marc, I think Kirk said he had Ernie Banks hold the Aaron card although I originally thought the same thing.
