Topps.com Archive Prints

I know this has been talked about before, but I check here and there on the topps.com site to see if they've expanded the selection.
Wouldn't you know it, that it HAS expanded. They have over 1000 prints to choose from.
The thing that throws me off is the large number of "common" players they have selected. There are just too many to list but I thought I would share.
Also, from what I can tell the oldest card is from 1980. I really wish they would go beyond that.
There would be a few that I would be interested in, for example George Brett 75, 76 or especially the 78. I'm not sure why I like this image, but just looks classic.
From looking more at it. It looks like they have gone from 1980 to 1990.
Enjoy.

  • It does seem somewhat odd to have all those commons. But looking through them, I see a few that will be on my birthday and Christmas lists this year!!!

    Thanks for the link!

  • Has anyone purchased any of the prints? How's the quality of the print? If you also bought the frame, how the quality of that?
    Thanks

Just bought 3 large George Brett's a few weeks ago.
    Bought 1975
    1977
And 1979. I am going to get them autographed this spring. Insert George Brett autograph joke here.

They are printed on great paper. The printing is solid but since they are blow ups of old negatives, they were never meant to be blown up that huge. The detail isn't there but from a few feet away, they look good.
There is enough edge for a nice matte.
I will get them framed my self after getting them signed, I want to pick custom colors for each one.

Topps had a flash sale on Friday and had them 50% off for two hours. They have had a ton of sales on them this year. If you want to one or more, wait for a sale and then sign up for their email and get and extra 20% off that was stackable on top of the sale.

It seems like the scrubs are included b/c they print them on demand and don't have to stock them.

I saw some one got a wade Boggs signed this summer but I would love to see others that have been signed.

Actually I was looking at George Brett too... either the 75, 78 or 79... and I too am going to spring training this spring...
Any idea how available he might be to get an auto? I'd be pretty happy to get that signed!!!
  • I am really looking at those Sparky Anderson cards!!! No, I'm not.

I agree, some of the selections are strange. And given how fast they are listing new players, I hesitate about the quality of them. Anyone buy one? How are the prints? What are they printed on and what is the quality? They are not large color copier prints, are they?

During the flash sale, I bought the 1968, 1969 and 1970 Nolan Ryan prints. I have about a dozen so far, both in the small and large print sizes.

Are you guys hanging these in your man caves?would love a pix.
  • I too would love to see pics to see the size relative to other objects...
  • So I can buy a 1988 Luis Aguayo print, but I can't get a Greg Maddux print. Makes sense.

They seem to be growing their players quickly. I bet it's a matter of time before we see a maddux.
