1976 topps wax. 7 cards?

Bought a 76 topps wax pack from bbce at the national at $65 and it only had 7 cards which was very odd! Dosent tell how many cards in a pack so I googled it. Well there were 10 card packs and 7 card mini pack but no way to tell the difference. Disappointed that bbce didn't label them as such or they don't know. FYI if at the national

Let Steve know. Give him a chance to make it right.

I was surprised by the 7 cards too when I opened my 1976s from BBCE yesterday. I expected 10 as well.

In 1976, Topps produced both 15c packs which contained 10 cards and 10c packs which contained 7 cards. There's no way to tell the difference by looking at the wrapper so you'd have to either weigh the pack or have the original box which would have the 10c tab on it.

That is correct, and given the recent move in 1976 wax boxes that explains why it was only $65.

Steve sold a 15 cent box just before the show opened very close to $3K. Huggins and Scott also sold one
around $3k last month. 15 cent packs are priced in the $80s now.

The elevator ride of 70s unopened BB continues.

BTW, I didn't pull anything of note until my third and final 1976 pack - a Nolan Ryan. Unfortunately, it was the wax card....

I don't know exactly what's up, but I bought 2 '76 packs from BBCE about 6 months ago, one to open and one to keep, for $65 apiece. And the one I opened did have 10 cards.

I'm kicking myself for not buying a clean, legit 1976 wax box for $1k at the SF show last year. I didn't check to see if it was a 10c or 15c version but who cares at that price? I was going to go back and pick it up at the end of the show but decided against it.

...and it also contained further evidence of why the '76 Brett is so tough!

As obvious as it now is, it never occurred to me until recently that most of the toughest cards are on the edge of the uncut sheet. I guess this is no exception.
