How can you properly "age" a card?

I know, it sounds bad, but I have some fantasy cards in mind that I think would look great "aged". I'm trying to pull off a Helmar look. Does anyone have any ideas?

Place them in your bicycle spokes and peddle over to your Grandma's house then let them sit there for a few weeks. Bingo you got pre-war goldimage

  • Also, soak in tea for that darkened look.

My brother and I used to play war with our cards and they definitely looked aged shortly after we ripped em. See if you can find a 5 year old and an 8 year old to do that to get the corners and surface just right.

How about some oven heat? May be a chore to find the temp and time, but may brown it just enough to get your desired look. The tea works too, but may ruin the stock you use.

I think that girl has a Jeter on her stick ... and the one boy a Matt Harvey.

    poison darts.
  • I hope none of them are Chromes...applying heat to them might turn them into shrinky-dinks
  • I remember making a buried treasure map as a kid and my mom using an iron and water to give it that old pirate movie look. Other than that, I'm all for the cards in the spokes of your bicycle. That's where a lot of my early 80's commons went!

Oh I found out how to do this watching MASH

Hawkeye: "You take 11 string beans, 1 onion, half a radish, and 4 bananas."

Trapper: "Ya mix it all up and you..uh..and you let it..soak for 6 weeks."

    Hawkeye: "Days."

    Trapper: "Days."

Margaret: "You better write this down."

Hawkeye: "Then you look around, you find the tallest tree and you hang the stuff in an enema bag. And you let it lay there for 18 weeks."

    Trapper: "Days."

    Hawkeye: "Days."

Crumple it into a little ball. Then swallow it. Wait 4-6 hours. Then bamn, dig it out of the toilet and you should be good to go.

Try your best , if you find the proper way to " Age " a card , to avoid applying the same process to gum . Also I highly advise that you DO NOT share this process as there are the morally challenged among us here , that would give their middle pelota , to have this ability to go with their barely used wrappers .
