I met George about 10 years ago when he was a coach for an Independent League team out of Brockton, MA who was playing in my area & what I recall most was that they didn't have uniform pants large enough to fit him as he was wearing (large) grey sweat pants with his game jersey.......He was one big dude (and very friendly as well).

    RIP Boomer

  • RIP Boomer. He provided one of the highlights of my childhood (in addition to all the home runs): Sox-Orioles 1977

Was supposed to be at a local show last September (Mansfield MA) but had to cancel last minute due to a health issue. Boomer will be missed.

I met him at a show a few years back. I purchased a few game used items from him. He was a big personality and this is sad to hear.
