PSA Large Holder // Standard Sized Card

Hello,

I have a 2007 Bowman Gold Auto graded in PSA 10. It appears to be a regularly sized card, however, it was placed into an enormous and thick PSA holder (red flip). Any ideas why?

Thanks,

Nate

I think I figured it out. Looks like the card is very thick.

I've had problems with this. Cards that were once fitted into regular sized holders have now been put into larger patch size holders.
I even had a card that was paper thin (black diamond) put into a patch holder. Had to send back 18 cards for mechanical error and show scans
of the card being in the regular holder as proof. The cards in question are 2-3 regular sized cards on top of one another. Was told it was up to the grader's discretion which is understandable but there should be a definitive
guideline as to what goes into what. To me it's a matter of storage and eye appeal.
