Krause...India 2 Annas 1939(b) first head vs second head

I always thought the first head was scarcer than the second head...yet the first head is $10 in UNC and the second head is $40 in UNC...is this correct?

Ditto "ormandh" comments. The second head is more expensive with the Calcutta ext. rare, Bombay is rare. My very old Krause 2011 is the opposite with the first head more expensive but it's good to have friends in India.

Ok. I sent a really nice gem second head in to NGC but only got an AU-58...thought it would go gem. Any idea what it would be worth?

First question would be what mint, Calcutta or Bombay, just out of curiosity. My Bombay is a raw EF and my Calcutta a raw AU. If Krause, up to at least my 2011 catalogue has been wrong on 1st and 2nd head rarity and we know the prices are not always up to date, an impossible task on there part. I would price your AU58 at the Unc. grade of $40.

It's a 1939(b). I thought it was just a grading mistake not worth much now but maybe I need to revise that thought.

It's worth holding on to as an example. You'd be hard pressed to find a better one.

Very cool so how do you tell them apart? I've seen them befor but i never picked them up not knowing what they are. They do look
