Blowout breaks up and randoms PSA 8 1975 baseball set

Just saw this and found it interesting.

They are randoming off a 1975 topps set completely graded PSA 8. It will work as a regular group break, with each person buying a slot and then picking by random order the card they want.

    nice flip

if its this set from ebay: 1975 topps set all graded psa 8

they paid 5k. at 10 a slot thats a 1600 profit. Its to their credit that they have a customer base to fill that kind of thing. Its already more than half filled in a day.

$10 for a common 75T PSA 8 seems pretty steep, no?

whats the High $ mark for a PSA 8 in the set, $200?

Agreed, it is a great way to get solid cash for a card that may not sell on its own merits.

I don't think this is too terribly different from breaking high end boxes.... you pay to roll the dice and hope for the best despite the odds.

Looks like fun for the buyers. Basically no risk with a little bit of reward...Brett/Yount and aaron's. Looks like 2 much work for the seller with all the shipping and multi purchase discounts. It would end up being about $600 profit if that.
