Please look at this auction for me

I like silver cois to be nice evenly toned or virtually white. I am want to pick up
this coin which closes tonight but I have a concern. On the reverse at 6:00
you can see some green. I know that is bad news for copper but is this
something to worry about on silver? Here is the link.
I plan to cross to PCGS i guess just so it matches the rest of my set.
Would acetone or something else help it?

Yes it can physically damage silver. Acetone may take it off just to reveal an ugly patch of destroyed surface luster. image

Hmm, hard to tell on my monitor. Might need a dip and light retone.
I wouldn't venture out to far on a big ticket item though.

Yep, it needs to come off. If keeping it in a NGC holder you could just send it in to them under the gurantee and they would conserve it at NCS and reholder.

Thanks for the help. I think if I win it I will send it to NGC(NCS) to conserve
and reholder. Now I have a decision to make. With the respect NGC
seems to have over PCGS for world coins I am tempted to cross my
PCGS coins to NGC at the same time. Frankly I do not care what grade
they give my PCGS coins as I like them for what they are to me. I am
only holdering them for another opinion and uniformity. Plus there is
a better level of protection from accidental damage when slabbed.

PCGS conserves coins now, too. You may just want to call cust service and ask how to approach
this with an NGC slabbed coin.

I don't Know. In the past I only collected U.S. coins and PCGS seemed to
have it all over NGC. But for world coins it seems NGC is prefered.

Well I won the auction and hear are some close ups of the problem area.
