Will PSA holder a trimmed card as Authentic?

If I sub trimmed cards knowing that they are trimmed, can I get them into a PSA holder as "Authentic" so that they can be added to a player set registry or will they just return them ungraded w/ EOT?

Yes they will. They have also started putting the word for the "Authentic" description. I.E. Trimmed will occur on the flip.
Edit: And yes, it does register for the registry as a "1".
A number of years ago I bought a 1948 Bowman Feller but it turned out to be trimmed. I finally had PSA holder it as I still liked the card. I stated I wanted an Authentic grade and they did just that but also put that it was trimmed on the flip.

The last time I did this I got an argument out of the first person I spoke with, but eventually I got my card slabbed.
Good luck.

Do I need to specify 'A' or 'Authentic' on the sub form as a minimum grade request?
<< <i>Great, thanks, especially for the visual example. So sometimes they put 'Trimmed' on the flip and sometimes not, or will it always say 'Trimmed' if it has been trimmed? I suppose it doesn't matter as long as it gets a 1 on the registry for my purposes here though.

I have a card that is labeled "Altered" with no further explanation. Putting a note in with the sub or asking for "authentic" as a minimum grade is a good idea, but don't expect it to work.
I would watch for your "poppage" and if your card doesn't get slabbed, to call before it ships back to you.
Your best bet might be to call PSA ahead of time and see if someone will let you mail your submission to their attention and make sure it gets done correctly.
Good luck,
Joe
Here is the reply I received from PSA after writing to them with the same question posed here:
"You can request “Authentic”, but it is the Graders’ discretion. We usually won’t offer it for low-value modern cards; it is usually reserved for high-value or rare vintage cards. Please write a note on the submission form, and also put a small note on the specific card holders (such as a post-it note)."

That sounds about right.
What I don't understand is why they don't just slab ANY card you request, after all you're paying for it.
Again, good luck,
Joe

I agree, since they don't give you a voucher for cards that have been deemed altered and a part of the grading fee must be to cover the cost of slabbing the card it should be an option, otherwise why not issue a partial voucher? As long as it's clearly labeled as to why it's only an authentic grade I don't understand why that can't happen.
Most of the time I wouldn't want an altered card slabbed, but I could definitely see me wanting some rare oddball card slabbed for a master set!

I am going to attend the National for the first time and I will be subbing a couple cards that have come back Miscut but they wouldn't slab. One specifically is a '65 Clemente that looks fine on the front, but is slightly Miscut on the back. This time, I will do what it says above, I will put it on the sub form as well as put a post-it note as well.
I hope it works. I just want it slabbed so it can sit with the rest of the collection instead of being an "outcast."

That's my situation. I've got a couple very rare oddball items to enter into a player set registry, even though they're not that old, being from the 1970's but Euro issue. I'm fine with an 'Authentic' grade instead of a number. I've tried and I just can't find any replacements in existence which is why I'm trying to add them instead of finding other examples. Frustrating risk at $15 or $17 per item in grading fees if they just send them back ungraded though (they wouldn't be able to be submitted under a lower pricing tier). I do tend to sometimes like items that are more or less condition-irrelevant, insofar as if you have the only one, the condition doesn't affect the value as it is instead driven by scarcity, but I sure would like a holder on them.
