Help with 1906 Japanese One Yen and 1820 Brazil 960 Reis

I believe the first coin is a 1906 Japanese One Yen coin but can't find out much more about it. I welcome opinions and suggestions on how to further research this coin. Yen is a nicely toned uncirculated coin. Portuguese Crown is XF/AU coin.

(I realize now this is a Brazil 960 reis silver 1820-B I will keep studying) The second coin is what I believe is an 1820 Portuguese Silver Crown but I can not find anything on Heritage or otherwise on this coin. Again, any help appreciated.

    I like them both

The Yen looks unc and likely in the 63 range. I do not believe this is a better date.

The 1820 Brazil looks 45 and possibly 50 on a good day.

Rats, I just packed up all my books so I have no idea on mintage/values for the 1 yen. It is a Meiji 36 which correlates to year 1903. This site: Japanese Dating (not that kind of dating!) has a nice review on the numbers, which way to read them, and a listing of what year is which. Don't know anything about the Brazilian coin.

Love the dragon design. A model from the mint in Osaka:

Yours has a cool look to it, though when I was in Japan, there was not as much interest in 'color' coins.

Thanks for information... the Yen does look like a 1903. Appreciate the help.

While the 1903 yen is nice indeed, I see some wear on the reverse. Look at the first leaf in the center to the left of the bow. The areas of the ribbons that drape over the stems also look like they might have some wear.
