Is there something fishy going on here??

I sold a ceramic pitcher to a person a few weeks ago. delivery confirmation says they received it on June 28th. On July 1st I get an email saying that it the handle was broken off when they received it and that they were upset because it is hard to find and that they din't think it was packaged properly. I told her to send me the pitcher back and I will refund them the money. I then sent a second email that says that if they send me a picture of the broken pitcher I would refund them the money since I don't really need a broken pitcher. I July 4th they sent me an email stating the will send me a picture as soon as they can figure out how to upload a copy to the computer. I then get an email today saying (July 9th) that it won't let them send a picture to my email address and what is my physical address so they can send the photo via USPS. I gave them the address since they live in CA and I live in CT I am not worried that they will come to stalk me or anything. Part of me is thinking that the pitcher is not really broken and that they are trying to find pictures of a broken pitcher on the internet. since there is long lapses in the emails. Am I jumping to conclusions or does this whole thing sound a bit like a scam.

I have no problem refunding the person their money if something actually happened but for some reason someting doesn't sit right. i agree, they might not be able to work a digital camera and are having difficulty.

Long shot, but try to click on the buyers feedback, then see if they sell also from the same account, if they do and pics are on their items, tell them to pound sand.

In a situation like this I would request a polaroid which shows todays USA Today beside said item. If they do not comply contact the US Attorney General for assistance.

Id give them the benifit of the doubt. I mean it was an item that is fragile and for perosnal experiences the people that buy stuff like this are not always computer savy. Not saying thats the norm, just personal expience. At this time you havent lost anything and you are handling it the right way. Just wait for this photo in the mail. Then use the judgment on the photo if you dont think its on the up and up. Then ask for the item back. And if you were right, I bet they wont send it back, but if your wrong Then refund.
