Great!! Buyer from Russia ??????????

Morning,

Just trying to get my options lined up here, have never had anything bought from a Buyer in Russia before. So buyer buys 11 each 1950's Boxing Weekly News newspapers, this will end up weighing about 4-6 pounds. Buyer is in:

St. Petersburg, 197082 Ðîññèéñêàÿ Ôåäåðàöèÿ

I have not sent an invoice yet, he is asking for me to send cheapest available shipping, that's a red flag right there, I don't care who you are!

Can I just cancel the transactions with no repercussions, I really don't want to deal with this, just feels bad from the word go and not worth a $50 sale!

So what are my options?

Thanks

Neil

Neil- If your Ebay auction didn't specify that you don't ship to Russia, then I'd try to complete the transaction. Risking $50 isn't a big deal compared to losing some of the integrity you've built up as an honest and trustworthy seller over the years. Perhaps in future auctions, you can specify that you only ship to North America etc.
Successful transactions with: thedutymon, tsalems1, davidpuddy, probstein123, lodibrewfan, gododgersfan, dialj, jwgators, copperjj, larryp, hookem, boopotts, crimsontider, rogermnj, swartz1, Counselor

Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.
  • Cut the guy some slack. He couldn't read any Western media since 1917, and he's just trying to catch up on "current" events. He's gotten to the 1950's; almost there.

May be time to look into ebay's international shipping program. From what I hear you ship to a US based spot, and they do the rest. I am skeptical, but may look into it myself, as it seems that seller preferences on ebay can be worked around.
  • Your listings show "Ships to: United States".

You're under no obligation to ship to Russia or anywhere besides the United States.

To cancel the transactions: go to My Ebay, then Selling Manager, find the transactions, and then open the menu in the "Actions" column and click "Open Unpaid Item Case / Cancel Transaction". From there, select "We have both agreed not to complete the transaction" and then choose "Buyer requested shipment to a country I don't ship to". Click "submit".

And I'd suggest you set up your seller preferences to automatically block members that are registered outside of the United States.

I always thought if you set your preferences to ship to (whatever country), people from other countries couldn't come in and bid as the system wouldn't allow it?
