    Chinese, yes, but actually from Taiwan.

    That is a Taiwanese 10-yuan piece. Y#553, struck in copper-nickel. That's Chiang Kai-shek on the obverse.

    If I decipher the numerals correctly (not my strong suit), I make that out to be Year 71, and so from 1981 AD.

    My 2009-ish Krause catalog says a VF is worth 30 cents, so hey, you've about broken even for your quarter's worth! image

    Year 71 would be 1982, no? I think you are supposed to add 11 years. Year 1 was 1912.
