USPS - Yet another head scratcher

For reference, I live in Cicero, NY, yet the package shows delivered in Camarillo, CA.

Any advice? It's almost comical, and it made me laugh when I checked the status of this package. Then I cried a little because the cards are worth a good chunk of change (at least in my world).

    Just a guess, but here goes. The carriers need to log into their scanners every day. My guess is that the carrier logged in incorrectly and put the CA zipcode in rather than the NY zipcode. Probably all of the packages the carrier delivered that day will show CA rather than NY. My guess is that the package was delivered to the right place.

    Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, they were not delivered to the right place as I didn't receive the cards. Sorry I did not make it clear that I am the buyer (recipient) in this transaction. Will go to post office tomorrow. Alan

    Wow, delivered within 4 hours from NY to CA.

    very strange, as Goleta is very close to Camarillo (the former is just north of Ventura, and the latter is just south), and yet there are posts of 3 activities in Cicero in between.

    So, if the carrier miss-logged his/her scanner, two similar errors would have have to occurred ?independantly?

    yes, a real 'head scratcher'

    Maybe it's a central ny thing. I live in skaneateles and I had a package go through Rochester then out for delivery in Malone ny way up north by Canada... But the destination was Virginia. It did eventually make its way to the correct place.

    Quick update.

    I went to the post office this morning. The supervisor there was very helpful. She said she would look into it and get back to me. About an hour later she called to tell me that she found the package and that she was holding it for me to pick up at the post office. Blamed the whole thing on a "substitute letter carrier" who "sometimes doesn't deliver ALL the packages she's supposed to."

    Lol, umm, okay.

    Happy ending for me (and the seller), but why do I get the impression that it is only a matter of time before it doesn't turn out so well for someone else?

    Time to start looking into a post office box. Maybe that will help?

    If so, I wish they would have let me know and I would've joined them. No Clemente's in that order though.
