Has anyone tried the Leica lux 3 for shooting coins?

I am think of getting one and curious if anyone has tried this for coins and macros.
I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

    According to the specs, it focuses to 1 ft. without turning on the macro mode. I highly doubt that this is true at all focal lengths, however. Best to find one you can play with and see if it focuses. It does have a standard filter thread on the front of the lens, so you could use a decent close-up lens with it if you had to. With a good close-up lens, you should have no problem doing decent coin pictures, and you'll probably also have success without one. Note that the V-Lux 3 is not the current model of this camera. It has been discontinued and replaced by the V-Lux 4.
