Topps Cut Card Cases Condition?

hey, hows the expected quality of cards inside a cut card case? If the expected ranking in terms of "best" condition is rack -> wax -> cello -> vending

where do you put cut card cases?

I would say worse than vending. Cards are just place straight in case, unlike vending cases.

    +1

Not necessarily packed very snug either. Toward the center of the case, you may have some similar to rack, outer edges (most of the cards in the case) are a crapshoot. Picture packing loose stacks of cards in a priority mail box, shoving whatever scrap you can to pack them somewhat tightly, taping it up and shipping it off.

I think it depends on the handling over the years. Gaspipe broke a 1976 cut card case on here several months ago and most of the cards were pristine. Some had light corner touches. The main issue was print spots on certain card. If a card had these spots, it seemed like most had those identical spots.

What year is the case you are referring to?

You could say this about ANY unopened product. But with cut card cases packed the way they were, it's pretty much hit or miss.

Does anyone know how they were sealed from the factory? Were they actually taped up like other cases?
