Desert Shield Poppage - From Group Rip

I didn't really have any star power in the pack I ripped, but the cards were very nice overall. I missed something on the Ventura (which I didn't know was a variation), but 3 10s and 4 9s from the one pack is pretty nice. Any card be had, pm me if interested:

The pack was beautiful. Steve did a great job of packaging these special packs for everyone and I was almost tempted to leave it alone, even though I tend to rip everything.

I ripped the 2 packs that I got from the rip and mine all look like 9's and 10's also! No star power in my packs but some beautiful cards none the less!

Congratulations on your DS results. Those results are outstanding and you should not have any trouble moving the 10s or cards of players that have a registry.

As far as the variations, I have spoken with Topps and many of the other DS collectors. To my knowledge and all those I spoke with, there are no real variations in the DS set. Topps takes the stance that the DS cards were printed after any errors were fixed or they did not correct the error. I have several PSA graded cards of a couple of players that state the error but do not have the error and the same card graded that does not state the error and they are identical front and back. Below is the McGwire example, as you can see there is no period in from of the 618. At one point in time PSA had the Lonnie Smith error and correct card listed in one of the team sets. Eventually it was removed by PSA because the error card did not exist. I am sure McAdams can also shed some light on this subject. If someone can provide a copy of the both the error and correct card for the DS set, then I would say PSA should add them to all sets that they effect.
