1919 World Series ring

Hi all,

The ring given to Pat Moran when the Red Sox "won" the 1919 World Series is coming up for sale at Heritage Auctions:

Apparently, Moran's son gave it to a local milkman after his father died - must have be some tasty milks right there!

Cheers,

Joe

Perhaps a new contraction of Reds & White Sox?

Well the Red Sox finished over 20 games out of first place that year but they did have a few future Hall of Famers on the club including a guy named Babe Ruth who out homered four or five clubs and won 9 games pitching with an ERA under 3!

That said this is a beautifully understated ring with a mountain (pun) of history behind it which should go for at least double that amount imo.
