Wow, never thought I'd live to see the day when Christian themes divided Europe like this … The article makes it sound like even mentioning "Jesus" on the tube train would create debate and conflict. I'm not Christian but I thought most Europeans were.

The same people that are the biggest gripers about religious symbols are also the biggest opponents to opening up Europe to Turkish membership in the EU. The fear of the Muslim horde is real.

hmm, I thought non-Christians were the ones complaining about the Christian symbols ... and the Christians were the ones afraid of Turkish muslims. No?

Regardless, there is a long history of Muslim and Christian battles in Europe - Middle East - North Africa. But I thought it was history. I know there've been some modern political issues in France and one of the nordic nations (sorry I can't recall which one, but it was about some law banning mosque domes and minarets). I just didn't realize - and frankly I'm still shocked to learn - that so much of Europe is anti-Christianity. At least, that's what the article implies.
