1981 Topps Rack Box

Picking up some boxes later today, mostly junk wax but included is a 1981 Topps rack box. Question for you guys in the forum familiar with unopened. If I decide to sell it am I better off selling as a whole box or trying to move by the individual pack?

Appreciate today-

Bill

  • My suggestion is that you sell the entire box to someone in this forum.

There are some rabid 1981 collectors here I tell you that will pay very well for that.

    You can forget chouser though.
The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the PSA 10 collector he didn't exist.

Picked up the wax today, over 200 boxes, mainly 89-97. All sports included. Mostly junk as expected but a few nice items like a sealed 87 Fleer rack box, 86 Topps wax box, 3 87 Topps wax boxes, 96 Fleer Metal BKB Series I box, and a few others. Also around 150 traded sets from 87-90, plenty of 87 Topps and Fleer with Maddux, and 25 90 Fleer with Thomas. All in all a good deal and was a lot of fun unpacking and stacking them all up. The 81 Rack box started out disappointing as there was a tear in the front of the box, however I opened the lid to find a full unopened and unsearched box with a Rickey Henderson leader card staring at me on one of the top packs. I did not search through the box because I wanted to leave in completely clean for whomever the buyer might be should I decide to sell it. Here are a couple of pictures of it.

  • hey I still got a stack of pretty centered 81's. only the off center or otherwise failure cards took the pool dive. in case you guys need any specific ones when building sets will gladly send them over. doubt it though as you have like 12,000 81 cards !
