I'm offering a Macro Bellows setup for Coin Photography that includes both full-coin and extreme closeup lenses. Asking $290
The setup includes the following:
- Vivitar Bellows
- Vivitar Focusing Rack with tripod/copy stand mount
- T-Mount to Nikon or Canon Camera adapter
- T-Mount to M40 Lens adapter
- Tominon 75mm f4.5 Macro Bellows Lens
- Rodenstock Eurygon 35mm f4 Macro Bellows Lens
Here's what it looks like:
The focusing rail can be attached to a tripod or copy stand. This allows your Coin Photography setup to be configured and left in place and the camera removed or other photographic purposes.
This setup is used in place of a "Dedicated Macro" lens, offering a much wider magnification range. Dedicate Macro lenses go either to 1:2 or 1:1 max, which is insufficient for detail shots or variety documentation and identification. The two lenses with this setup offer a much wider range:
- The 75mm lens allows magnifications from about 0.3:1 (for large medals or full sideways slab shots) up to around 2:1 for detail shots. Thus it covers the full range needed for coins from about 55mm diameter down to around 8mm diameter.
- The 35mm lens allows magnifications from about 2:1 up to around 6:1 for variety documentation and identification.
So, for $290 you get a more flexible setup with excellent image quality for a lot less than you will pay for a dedicated macro lens.
I've included photos below showing the full range of this setup:
75mm minimum magnification
75mm ~0.4:1 for full Dollar shots
75mm ~0.8:1 for full Cent shots
75mm ~2:1 for detail shots
35mm ~4:1 for variety documentation shots
35mm ~6:1 maximum magnification
I'm asking $290 for this setup. I need to know what camera you will be using so I can include the correct adapter. I can include either Canon or Nikon adapter. If user has Sony or other camera mount he'll need to source a T-mount adapter.
Shipment is by USPS Medium Flat Rate Box for $12.
Payment by Check, MO, PayPal+3%, Cash, or Trade OBW Lincoln Wheat Cent rolls.
If PayPal is used total is $290 + $9 + $12 = $311
