Here's the story with this clown. His ebay I.D. is wingman713.
A few days ago I wake up and notice a message on my ebay account asking about the condition of an item. I responded only to realize he had already purchased the item as a BIN the night before. Over the next few hours we exchanged several messages over which we discussed the condition, how it would be mailed, when it would be mailed, etc.(all of which were already explained in the listing). From the exchanges I know this guy was not going to be happy with whatever he got and when he would get it. In other words I already smelled a rat. Towards the end of the email exchanges I strongly suggested that I simply refund his money and we cancel the transaction. His response was no, that he wanted the cards and that he would be happy if everything went as planned.
Fast forward a few days later and of course there is a case open. I have struggled to read through his comments to try and find a reason for his unhappiness. What I've concluded is that he thinks the cards were misrepresented (of course he doesn't say how) and that he feels he deserves a partial refund of $8 (not sure of how he calculated that....probably a mid-air grab of a number he had in mind when he purchased the cards).
As a seller I think this is my first case and therefore my first run-in with an idiot. My plan is to offer this clown his money back minus shipping once the cards are returned. I know this won't make him happy because I am sure he is happy with the cards and only wants to screw me. My question is this: Is there a better way to handle this idiot that I don't know of? I don't think there is but I want to be sure before I answer the case and I figure some of you guys have undoubtedly been through this before.
