I've heard of these old school guys that basically shun technology....essentially they are obstinate for obstinates sake, and nothing more.
I have a reasonable degree of contempt for them actually. If my 88 year old uncle can learn to use email, if my 70 year old mom who was a beautician her whole life(ie, never used a computer at work) can go to Golden West CC and learn to use email, facebook, etc, in order to stay connected to family, learn new things, and basically embrace technological advance....theres no reason anyone else cant.
These guys are modern day luddites. Stubbornness isn't really a useful quality.
A checks a pain to deal with. I guess not terrible if you have a bank that allows smart phone scanning of checks, but ugh if you actually have to go deposit it in an atm or actually have to stand in line at a bank.

Dodgerfan- Most all large banks and many smaller regional banks offer deposit via smartphone these days. And even tiny community banks allow you to deposit checks at an ATM after hours. With the options that banks offer these days, other than the day you have to wait for the funds to clear, a check is almost as convenient as cash.
On ebay, I'd take a check that clears over paypal any day.

Grote, I second that quote! Check or cash or gift please as I don't rip people off and if you hate it, send it back and I will refund your money. I hope we get back to the days of cash or check and more in person transactions that end with a handshake!!!!

My motives have been uncovered. This was an exercise to expose the fact that Paul had no clue what a PWE was.

I think that's how TTM's are made... And it is a fine relationship, especially when the SASE goes back home.
