I have had this Russian Czarist medallion since the 1960's when I found it in a California coin dealer's "foreign" box.
Medallion
Obverse:
Head of woman facing right in wreath
Cyrillic inscription
Reverse:
Czarist double-headed eagle
Size: 27mm
Metal: Bronze
Weight: 3.66gm
Is this an accurate translation of the Cyrillic?
FOR WOMAN GIRL/MAIDEN JEWELRY/DECORATION
Any idea what it was for?

I'll check some Russian medal sites when I have a few minutes.
Neat piece!

8 Reales Madness Collection
In a nutshell, there are a number of varieties. These were done as an experiment to reduce the number of coins being holed to be worn as jewelry by women around the turn of the last century (pre-1907).
