Scott Hall and DDP....

I admire Dpeck and wrestlingcardking a ton for their collecting accomplishments with imo bringing wrestling cards more to the forefront. Their threads and stories have opened the door for me to look into wrestling history and whatnot. One of my favorite guys growing up was Scott Hall (Razor Ramone was my guy growing up!). My brother told me to watch the ESPN60 doc on him a year back and it broke my heart! I also started the DDP Yoga routine a few months back to help me loose some weight and get healthier. I recently subscribed to DDP's youtube account and have been blown away by what he has been doing for his friends. I think everyone should give these vids a watch.

Here is the ESPN60 Doc. Watch it first.

Here is the intor into what DDP has done in thelast few months for Scott

and here is a search string of the latest updates (not in order though, sorry)

I know yoga sounds crazy for some guys but it has proven to work for certain people and the whole DDP Yoga idea that Dallas Page is creating is life altering for a lot of people.

Thanks for sharing, I just watched all these videos. I had no idea Scott Hall had fallen as he has. Seems like he a strong support system now.

Congrats to you for using this as building block to a healthier life.

I would love to see and hear updates as they become available.

Thanks for posting the links I will definitely check them out.

There are some Youtube videos that people have posted with amazing results from his program.

Growing up in Florida I watched Championship Wrestling from Florida and he did color commentary with Gordon Solie in the very early stages of his career.

I think it is great that he is working so hard to help try and turn around the lives of Jake Roberts and Scott Hall and hopefully they can stay on the path to recovery and greater health.

    Diamond Studd and DDP

DDP was his manager right before his career exploded.

Both of their rookie cards happen to be in the same set. 1992 WCW Topps UK. Here some scans.

That was pretty heartbreaking. Good on WWE for helping with the problem!
  • Incredibly painful. Appreciate the post.

To look at all the wrestlers that we grew up watching in the 80s and 90s, the few that turned out ok, kept their money, avoided major drug issues and premature death can probably be counted on one hand.

I think The Wrestler movie is incredibly sad because I see many of the wrestlers living an existence similar to what was in the movie.....sad. This is a reminder of that movie to me.

This is one reason why it is such a major challenge to complete a signed set of the wrestling all stars from 1982/3. So many of those guys died young, stayed in character, or they were just older when the cards were produced since they were able to compete past their prime unlike major sports. The abuse wrestlers' bodies take is unbelievable and while matches are choreographed, they are without question unreal athletes.

  • The Wrestler movie would seem to be the optimistic version of these guys life!

Heck who could ever have imagined Hogan would be broke and trying to make a buck doing whatever he can as a 60 year old.

It's probably easier to name 80/90s wrestlers that didn't go this route. Are their any that survived and thrived. Stone Cold, The Rock however they came a bit later. Brett Hart seems to be doing ok. It's a slim list.
