A very nicely toned and fully original Spanish Colonial 8 Reales from the Lima Mint in Peru. Scarce in Mint State, the piece is fully toned, unlike the majority of examples seen in the marketplace that are often white and not as appealing. Under the toning we see nice prooflike fields and abundant luster. A very nice coin of a type that heavily circulated in the United States as well as the rest of the world.
