Sharing my showcase collection

Hello to all!!! I decided that I would collect a little from everything I like. Not completing any sets, but just cherry picking low pop cards of sets that I like. For the same reasons most of us collect, because we like that player, movie, tv show, for sentimental or historic value. For whatever reason, that's what we like. Perhaps this should have gone on the non-sports board, but that place is a ghost town. Can't really find anyone to chat with or get feedback. As far as my showcase collection, here is an example of my reasoning. Check out the 1977 OPC Star Wars PSA 10 1/1's. I don't want the whole set. But I love the #47 card! Other then the #1 Luke card, its my next fav Luke card! I just picked up a 1967 Leaf Star Trek #18 Space Race PSA 8 old holder. I think it might be a possible bump to 8.5, which there are none, and only two 9's. That would make my year! Here's to hoping when I send it in!! Its my fav Leaf Trek card. I'm really proud of the Christopher Reeve signed and dated photo, that I currently have at PSA/DNA. Can't wait to get that back! I have never seen one dated. So as you can see in the link, a little bit of Hillbillies to Raiders!! LOL! I appreciate any comments or feedback. Such as perhaps a non-sport suggestion that I should go for? I was thinking of perhaps waiting for a high grade 1958 Gunsmoke to come along, and add that to my collection. I really like those cards, the way they look.

And of course I am always looking to add to my fav sets! Thanks for looking!

  • Thanks for all the great comments!!! Yes, I was SO glad when I found the OPC #1 Luke, that was a real find from a great person that sold it to me. Klink rules!! LOL! I was thinking of planet of the apes, I am working on a deal of another 1/1 1966 Batman Color, so the Apes might have to wait a bit............

I like those Cobb cards, Big80's, those are nice!

Whoa... Wonder Bread cards!! I forgot all about those, but after seeing one it brought back a lot of memories! Those have to be tough, too, with the black borders. I also remember them getting stained from the bread, iirc. Damn... now I might have to pick a couple up... image

    Nice collection!

HAHAHA!!! Yes, the black borders are very tough! And yes, funny how they got stained, and now, what a collectible! I like the black borders, brings out the color on the rest of the card.

  • Wow! Went to Man of Steel today! And got my result of my Reeves photo! Plus, Reeves dated it when he signed, which is great! What a super day!!!!!!
