Does anyone have a registry set of just checklists?

Just curious. I always had an affinity for them when I was a kid, and when I was in the business years ago. I would hoard checklists and league leader cards because I felt they were undervalued.

  • I like checklists too! As a kid mine were all marked so I really appreciate the (like new) unmarked ones. I always wondered what kind of registry set would be interesting?
All Topps? Topps from the 60's? Topps from the 70's? All checklist from the 60's? etc...

It is giving me something to think about if I decide to do something that's on a modest budget.

Several years ago, I went on a checklist buying kick. I have some PSA 9s from the 70s somewhere. PM me if you're interested, and I'll dig 'em up

I love league leader cards. Not only do you get big stars, but it's fun to see the players from years ago who seemed to be among the league leaders every year but aren't recognized as A-List players.

    WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!

It is about time I get someone to talk about checklists!!!

They are really an undervalued group of cards, and I hope to finish my checklist collection someday. Here is a link to my PSA 10 graded checklist set on the showcase registry because PSA wouldn't start a regular registry set for me.

The way I see it, checklists from a certain era back are a very solid value in high grade. In 1980, I was still marking a certain amount of my checklists. I was thrilled when I discovered in 1974 that the card was actually included as a numbered card in the set.

When I was very involved in earlier football, nothing thrilled me more than handling nice checklists. My favorite was the 1966 Topps "Funny Ring" checklists, but there were other checklists like the ones with HOF stars on them which are still really cool.

Very nice! I might do a similar showcase. Mine would be hockey though.

Checklists are my favorite part of signed sets. It's always fun to be creative about who you get to sign them. For my hockey ones in the late 60's, I usually get the Cup winning coach that year. 68-69 I have Claude Ruel, 69-70 I have Harry Sunden, 70-71 I have Al Macneil and 71 I have Milt Schmidt.

But my favorite signed checklist is courtesy of Bobby Leonard on a 72-73 Topps basketball card. He signed the middle and checked off all his players on the card from the ABA Champion 73 Pacers. Looks awesome. If I get a few minutes I'll dig out and scan.

That hi grade set is awesome !!

I also think CL are way undervalued..esp pre 1975 and in sports like FB or BK.

I need the last card in the set....and many are the last card ........#99 for my 1969 BK set.

A psa 8 is the scarcest card in an 8 and can run $3K.

Many 1960's FB sets last card is a CL. Tougghies.

I wonder if there is a checklist for checklists ???

  • I've always liked checklists. I collect OPC hockey and don't feel that they are undervalued. Sometimes they are the most expensive card in the set.
