That is a great question, I just look for all the other attributes to the card like the surface and to spot any creases or wrinkles and make sure the card is free of those. Of course see if the perforations match the border to the card and that other cards around it do not bleed over into the card. For some cards like the Tiger Woods SI for Kids having the other card come down through the perforation may not be such a big deal since it is a high dollar card. I did sub a few perforated cards and it was difficult for me to see the difference. I feel I have a good grasp of standard cards and their grades but with perforated it seems to be a bit of a crapshoot. I probably would learn more about perforated cards if I subbed more than I do. Good luck if you have nice ones you want subbed.

<< <i>what is the best way to get a high grade on perforated cards.. what are they looking for? >>
Still centering and surface, but as for the edges, they look for natural edges. Any noticeable razor cuts are bad. I've subbed several SI for Kids cards and landed 8s and 9s (no 10s yet). My ripping technique is bend one way 90-degrees, then the other way 90-degrees, then pull straight apart. Don't bend them 180-degrees or you will create a curled edge on the card. Some people swear by lightly scoring the edge with a razor before ripping, but I don't trust my hands to do that. My system seems to work well enough.
