Modern question regarding 2012 Upper Deck Exquisite Football

So why in the world is Upper Deck Pre-selling this as a 2012 release? We are passed the half-way point of the next year! It seems that companies are desperate to make that buck! Please correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the 1992 and 1993 Stadium Club Dome sets listed as those particular years because they came out in those years although the design was for 1991 and 1992?
