Does anyone know a PSA grader personally?

I have always wondered about this. Are they card collectors? Are they paid well? What type of training are they given? How many of them are there? Are they sworn to secrecy?

I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!

many of us know former graders.

Don't know too many folks that know current graders-
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Grader 216, aka "the grader of death", is my sister-in-law's cousin. Everyone LOVES my wife's potato salad, but at the last family picnic, he gave it a measly 5 out of 10! Unbelievable!

I thought grader 213 was the grader of death?

Grader 666 is the real grader of death. Grader 420 is responsible for all the mislabels.

I do not know any current graders.
  • I don't know any -- but I do know that tucking a flat brand-new $5 bill in the cardsaver there with your card
    works wonders with most graders.

Edited: For all you super-serious types that was a joke. In case you didn't get it.

I read graders get paid per card. So how much you are paid depends on how fast you are.
  • BubbleBathGirl grades all the PSA submitted cards. you guys didn't know, did you.

I can't believe that they would be paid per card graded. Has anyone else heard that?

Way too many holidays and way too much backlog for that to be true.

i believe all psa graders are sequestered upon hire so as not to--potentially--fall victim to the tantalizations that may tempt them.

OK that explains the constant backlogs. They only work 4 days a week!
