Insane pricing for Miguel Cabrera to sign your items

Miguel Cabrera is signing through Major League Alumni Marketing for these prices:
Your card: 280.00
Your flat/ball: 290.00
Your 16x20/mini 350.00
Your bat: 360.00
Inscriptions: 85.00

If you ask me this is absolutely insane and I really hope that people boycott this ridiculousness.

well I guess you could just get the other two living baseball players to win the triple crown to sign instead!
  • I love Miggy but agree those are insane prices...is he a difficult auto? I know he is very private, now it may be that he is just a great businessman

I recently just bought a signed IP 2012 Allen and Ginter from someone for 18 bucks on another site. Wow...does that mean I could offer this to someone and tell them they will get a great deal from me if they buy it for 250? LOL

Show my a player's signing fee and I'll show you where you can buy the item already signed for 75% or less of that price.
  • I agree the prices are insane, but it certainly keeps the rif raf out.

I don't imagine he gets anyone sending him 100 cards asking for free autos that can be sold for profit.
  • Is this no worse than buying a Bryce Harper or Andrew Luck auto 1/1 for $10,000?

I dont think you can compare card collecting (auto or no auto) to basic autograph collecting.
  • He doesn't make enough money already that he needs this pissant income?

And why do this now -- flooding the market with his auto.

The egos of these guys never ceases to amaze me.

Why do you hope people boycott these products rather than spend their money however it best maximizes value, then let supply-and-demand determine prices?
  • is this posibly raising money for the Alumni Association?

At those prices, I hope it's got a charitable slant to make a little sense out of them.

People know he signs baseball cards through the Tigers charity program for $40 right?

Lets see; $40 to charity vs $280 to a promoter...

I hope that is going to the MLBPA pension fund or something
    charitable of that nature.

If it truly is then I apoligize to Miguel.
