New ebay search BS

First ebay gets rid of wildcards for searches, requiring the inclusion of spelling variations in a search string instead of a simple "*".
Now, it appears that ebay has limited searches to 100 characters. Several of my saved searches that have spelling variants listed are getting error messages - "Unfortunately, we only have room for around 100 characters, so we had to shorten your search."
I don't get why ebay wants to make it more difficult to search their website?

A lot of people are apparently not concerned....
They call me "Pack the Ripper"
I'm excited to see how Ebay spins this into an enhancement. They spun the elimination of wild card searches as "simplification of the search process" and said that it'll make it easier to find what you want. Yeah right.

<< <i>I wonder how long before they eliminate the boolean search capability? >>
Eventually you will have two options for searching - "STUFF" & "OTHER STUFF". Plus ebay motors, I guess - "CAR STUFF".
<< <i>I just hate when I search for something, half of the search does not even have any of the keywords listed. So many times I can put Topps in my search and will still get Donruss or Fleer, and sometimes even different years. They might as well program a search that tries to read your mind and see what it comes up with. >>
I've thought that odd as well, but usually found it's somewhere in the item details (probably leftover from another listing by the same seller).
Then you'll have to browse through a lot of pages -- which is what eBAY wants anyway.
I'm also getting tired of their spam emails too about suggested items that I don't want.
