A "Big 3" autograph collection?

Hello. I'm a bit new to this area of the Forum, but I enjoy reading about some of the stuff you guys post here.

I realized that many teams I enjoyed watching growing up had 3 star players.
(I am not referring to the "Big 3" in Miami, for the record. I know they might have fans on the Forum; I am not one of them)
Examples include countless teams and members, of course. The centerpieces to my collection would probably include:

Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman (Chicago Bulls)
Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta (FC Barcelona)
Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Rivaldo (early millenium Brazilian national team)

Has this kind of collection been done before? If so, have collectors sought out a single item with autographs from all 3 members of the "big 3," or have they just gotten by with individual autographs on each item?

It might have been possible to assemble such a collection 20-30 years ago, but given the restricted access fans have to players now, it would be virtually impossible to accomplish some threesomes on a single item. But then again, for an autograph collector the "chase" is part of the appeal.

For example, the Bulls example you gave, Jordan will not sign photos in person, and rarely does private signings. When he does the price is very high. Pippen is a tough signer that does not do many public signings. Rodman, relative to the others is the easiest if you can find him (try North Korea or Las Vegas) but if you had a photo signed by Jordan and Pippen, his sloppy signature would in my opinion ruin the piece.

I don't know how accessible the soccer (football) players are, but given their rock star status, I would imagine not easy.

If you see items for sale with three star signatures such as you seek, chances are about 99.9% they are forgeries unless sold by Steiner Sports, Upper Deck, or other reputable company with contracts with the players.

Collecting autographs is a real mine field these days, and this is coming from an autograph collector with 40+ years experience.

As a niners fan, Montana, Young and Rice are goods ones (all 3 were SB MVP's as well)!

For cowboys, Aikman, Irvin, and Emmitt (all HOF's who played the majority of their careers together).
