    tough to tell

I know, The backs are the hardest to tell if there are no white lines visible on the front. Going by the backs alone. It's very hard to tell and almost nobody knows how to tell. Sarcastically speaking?
    Good luck yall.

The ironic part is (If I am correct).....was mine had the right colored back. The one everyone said was incorrect.
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,384 ✭✭✭✭✭
You will never learn I guess.
  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,384 ✭✭✭✭✭
There are different shades of topps 1968 issue. Yes. But not the same shade as a Milton. You just cant allow that in you mind I guess?

Also yours didnt even have the correct white line. Which was very obvious. Which was also funny.

You continue to berate me. At least I made a guess.......I suspect most won't. I'll check in later to see if I'm right.

    LOL
Im glad this poll was your idea.
Thanks for the vote. I know you are not wrong in your mind even if you picked all 8 options.
And again I'm not berating you. I'm just trying to see how you can't grasp this.
I wont bring it up again as long as you don't..

It is not uncommon for some '68s to get a little sun bleaching on the back and appear more yellow than the norm. Additionally, there are several different shades in the basic Topps issue while the MB issue was pretty much one shade.
  • 1968 Topps Milton Bradley cards range from #'s 7-195. There is only one card in this group that has the "cheesy" yellow back versus the traditional gold(in that card range), and it's the #177 Nolan Ryan RC. You don't need to see the front(some have the white line-some don't) as long as the back has the proper "yellow" color. The front can reaffirm it's a M.B. if it has the proper "white line", but it may not have the "white line" and can still be a M.B.

    << <i>1968 Topps Milton Bradley cards range from #'s 7-195. >>

game, set, match - the only card in the picture that has a chance of being a MB is the Koosman RC.

  • Sorry, I thought by my response you knew I was guessing only 1 (the Ryan RC).....

I did. My response was mostly to the seven who cast a vote for anything else but 1

So I guess this must be a 1970 Milton Bradley that was not labeled as such . . .

Should have made it harder by including numbers within the range....it would have been virtually impossible then.

Unfortunately otwcard, these were the Milton Bradley cards during the 1970's,.,.,,,

I just find it funny that soooooo many knowledgable collectors really have no idea about the issue....

Only one looks school bus yellow, the rest look various shades of yellow-gold. Might be better to scan them side-by-side versus fanned and stacked, creates shadows.

Here is the infamous "card"....the irony here is that the winning buyer purchased it with the intention of cracking and resubbing to get it into a Milton Bradley holder...ROTFLMAO!!!!! image

    11/5/12 eBay Image wandw-auctions r***s 24 $218.01 MC

Ichriosports won the card from me and auctioned it off as soon as he got it in his hands! His winning buyer paid $130 more dollars, and cracked it out to sub to PSA as a MB variation!

The proof is in the pudding.....VCP members can see the scans for themselves.

Correct answer was what ever bobby voted. And I think he voted 7.
    Thanks for playing.

I find it irronic you know how to tell a milton by the white line on the front but yet you insisted yours was a milton bradley.

You really missed the point and obviously assume that I have no idea. It was a jab at the white line on the Mays and to those that insisted that the white line was the reason that a certain Ryan WAS when it WASN'T.

    Irony . . .

    Bobby,

I know that you don't want to concede, which is fine, but the overwhelming evidence is something you cannot ignore.

For those that don't know, read this thread first: LINK

Then take a look at Bobby's auction: LINK

And for easy reference, here are the images from the auction link:

You can continue to insist you're right and everyone else is wrong but that's a decision only you can make.

To Bobby's credit, he did admit PSA got it right the second time when they re-labled his card as a regular '68T issue. From the other thread:

<< <i>Yes, they got it right....however, I in no way deserved the attacks that were made against me. This board is full of hypocrits. They have no qualms about buying a PSA 6 and then cracking it out and getting a PSA 8. However, when I submit a card that I believe in my heart is a Milton Bradley card and PSA grades it as such, who am I to beleive? This first grader who agreed with me or the 2nd grader who didn't?? Same as the crackout people....do you believe the grader who graded a card a '6' or the one who graded it an '8'?? >>

While I don't agree with his comparison to crackouts (that's apples to oranges IMO), he did concede at the time, though may have a change of heart now...

    LOL.
Also that Ryan is not the same color as the ryan in the group of 7.
Im sure you will want another poll. But what is the point. You said it is the same color.
  • Topps/Milton Bradley......chicken/mushrooms......it's all negligible
