Looks like they are selling potential cards 'inside' the pack. I'm assuming if you have the sequence you can do this as long as the sequence does not change midstream.

<< <i>Those 81 racks were loosely packaged so it is easy to "thumb" through the packs to know whats inside.

YUP ... and there's a good chance that the edges of the card have been damaged by the "thumbing thru" of the cards.

<< <i>All packs have sequences. Anyone who has pulled a star card from a pack then has the sequence to find every unopened pack containing that star card. >>
Agreed ... but I do remember many people "Thumbing Thru" the cards back in the day.

But since the person knows what is inside, then obviously, they have thumbed it. At $200 I would avoid these. Not to mention I think its a bit steep for 11 racks of 1981.
Not to mention it makes even more sense that these are from Kruk Cards. I bought 2 1985 rack packs with Clemens on top, and one of the clemens had a huge "thumbing" edge where the card was lifted on the top side. Before I even opened it. Also, one of the cell walls broke open, presumably from too much handling, and the cards slid into each other. If I find the card, I will scan it.
That said - I did open them and got a Gooden rookie out of it in addition to the Clemens. But none were worth grading. I for some reason want to say I also pulled a Puckett rookie which eventually was graded a 10, and a McGwire that was a 9, but I dont know if I am confusing my 1985 rack packs from the BBCE Group Rips or these (I have not opened many). I have a hunch it was from Kruk cause I would have scanned my results from the Group Rip....
Seems like a lot of good luck from 2 rack packs (2 Clemens, a McGwire and a Puckett) which is why I am questioning my memory).
