Thought I would share a card I picked up.

I am really happy to own this card. Really tough card to find centered. Thought I would share with the boards.

  • That's about as good as it gets. I'm very jealous of that one. Nice purchase!

Um, yeah, that's a rather palatable specimen you have there, Matt. Awesome acquisition, bro. Oh, and your Musial collection is just ridiculous!

Matt, you always have a great eye. That one is a keeper. Glad to see the collection coming along. Looking forward to seeing what you find at the National. image

And Stephen, I agree that Matt's Musial collection is off the charts. That '48 Bowman is incredible!!!

Yea, I guess your right Mike. I sold off my big cards and my son got very upset, which was completely unexpected. So he and I got involved in something we are working on together now. It's cliche, but I didn't appreciate what I had until it was gone.

Thanks to everyone for your comments and for allowing me to share the card with my board friends, I appreciate having a place to share exciting pickups.

And that is not a 9 why? Actually...better for the collector when he can buy a card hiding out in a lesser holder. Though specimens as sharp as that one will always be graded by the market's eyes-- and if you put that baby up at auction the secret would be out to all but the blind.

I'm always amazed when an older card survives the journey through time in shape like that. So bright and crisp.

I hope my son winds up into cards like yours apparently is. He just paged through Orlando's book and said he wanted Honus Wagner's bat, so I think he's on the right track.

Fantastic card. And I guess you must be loving that collectorfocus.com site. CW put me onto it. Really helps one get an overall view of their collection, see the holes, where it's going.

I agree it really is a great thing to have these boards, when one's immediate flesh-and-blood circle just can't share how fired up we get about our pickups.

Congrats on another addition to a fabulous collection, MBM.

    Best,

    Matt

Well done Matt -- looks like you're right back on track.

I expect this group will be more special than those you parted with given the involvement of your son.

I'm looking forward to following your "rebuild".

Great pick-up Matt. You are right, that Aaron is a beast to pick up centered. Am I seeing an Aaron run from you now?

I agree but what is keeping that card from a 9? It looks perfect.
