I know there is a ton of knowledge here on theboards regarding computers/scanners.

I have a HP Scanjet 4370

I have been getting these feight light blue lines. Thet even cover a card I scan.

Bed is clean. Problem seems to be getting worse.
Any ideas?

I was just in the market for a flatbed scanner a week ago,
and after looking at some past posts here, I went seeking
    an Epson V-30.

    I couldn't find a V-30, but at Office Depot they had a V-37
for under $100.00. I brought it home and have been very
    happy with it so far.

Oh, and don't go to Best Buy looking for one. The guy told
me they only sell flatbed scanners in combo with printers.

Jay, a lot of people on here like Epson V300 for graded cards. Check out this thread for more info.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Here's a card I just scanned using the Epson V-37.
I didn't do anything special to it, just cropped and
    resized it.

I did leave the top open while scanning, since the
    top has a white underside.

I'll let you judge for yourself, but I'm pretty happy
with the way they turn out.

Amazon has one HERE for $81.57 with free shipping. I think that's about what I paid at Office Depot. I may have paid 5 bucks more, plus tax, of course.

I want to see a clear scan of the backside of one of those fancy pack slabs that PSA decided to put all of my jersey cards in. My crappy scanner won't do it. That alone may make me buy a new scanner.

now sombody scan me a shiny chrome card (which seems to be the chief complaint on the V300). I gotta know what they are complaining about.

Here's the back of a cello pack using the Epson V37.

Again, I did nothing except scan, crop, and resize.
There may be more bells and whistles on the thing
that would make better scans than this, but I'm
happy, and I haven't read the directions anyway. image

If you are going to be scanning SHINY stuff ... don't buy the V300. It's an AWESOME scanner, but NOT for the new shiny stuff.

EDITED TO ADD: I believe most of the people on here who have the V300 paid between $65.00 - $95.00 DELIVERED.
