Time limit for paying Ebay....

So I didn't specify a paying time limit to pay on Ebay, stupid me. Is there an unsaid time limit, or a time limit that i didn't read on Ebay to go by before I start asking the buyers questions?

After 4 days (full 96 hours) you can send a NPB reminder, they then have 4 days to respond. I am more lenient, and send them an email after 5-6 days wondering if payment "fell through the cracks". If no response in about 24 hours I then send the NPB reminder. Ebay will also message them daily to pay for their item, so tread lightly as you have very little to gain, and a seller's reputation to lose.

I always give people at least a week and then don't hound them until the next Sunday. Reason being is sometimes people opt not to pay until they have available funds, and sometimes that means waiting for the paycheck to hit the bank account.

I wait 7 days. If I haven't heard, I will email once to see if there is a problem or if buyer still wants the card. If I get no response after another day, then I file a NPB claim.

Rarely do I have to wait more than 2-3 days for payment.

  • I always specify I'm my auction descriptions usually 4-7 business days after the auction close, but would wait up to 10 days if someone asked in advance. I like to be somewhat flexible for people as there are times when I really want to bid on an item but don't get paid till the following week...... Ahhhhhhh

I seem to be in the minority on this one. Once the waiting period is over, I issue a NPB alert right away. More often than not, they will either pay, ignore me or send me a note saying that they plan on paying. If they respond at least I know where I stand. If I am ignored, then I can start the clock ticking on my ability to close out the case and get a credit for the final value fees.
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.
