Since this was mentioned, I though an exercise was in order...

WTB: 2001 Leaf Rookies & Stars Longevity: Ryan Jensen #/25
That said, I would have been interested to see a better condition PSA 1 for the survey. For example a tear, pinhole, or just a few major creases instead of a true beater.
WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
Edite to add: The PSa 1 does show a ton of character. I have a 52 Snider, not quite as bad but showing lots of love.

<< <i>A fair question would be do you prefer the PSA 1 in that holder or an Authentic holder. >>
Exactly. The comments from the other thread were taken out of context by the OP of this thread. It's not that all PSA 1's are more desirable than all PSA Authentic cards. It's that the same card is seen as more desirable in a PSA 1 holder rather than a PSA Authentic holder.
The Auth Mantle looks nice, but is only gradable be the odd ball companies.

Nothing was taken out of context...
This was simply done as an exercise to demonstrate that some will state one thing categorically and then change their mind when presented with the same question. The variables of TPG cards are not always as simple as they seem, and I understand that all PSA 1's and PSA AUTH are representative of the exemplars that I presented, but I think the stark difference puts some in a quandary,

If you don't like "taken out of context" then how about "misinterpreted" or "twisted"? All of them fit.

Nobody changed their mind. It's not even close to being the same question. In the other thread, what was stated categorically was that the Nolan Ryan card being submitted would be more desirable if it came back graded PSA 1 as opposed to PSA Authentic. This holds true for any card being submitted. A numerical grade is a more desirable result.
You're usually a pretty sharp guy; I shouldn't need to explain this to you twice.
